Youth Council
The Youth Council is an innovative mechanism for civic participation within the Municipalities in Mexico. This initiative provides young people with a platform to gather in community centers, engage in debates, and collaborate on the formulation and evaluation of government actions and public policies in their borough.
Our Journey
In 2019, we invited young people from diverse communities to join the Youth Council. This call attracted 12 committed individuals who began proposing, evaluating, and dialoguing with the borough government to enhance their communities.
Achievements and Projects
Community Green Spaces: One of the Council's initial projects was the creation and maintenance of green spaces in urban areas. This initiative not only improved the local environment but also provided safe recreational areas for the community.
Youth Entrepreneur Support Program: Addressing the need for economic opportunities, the Council developed a support program for young entrepreneurs, offering training workshops and microloans to help them start their own businesses.
Mental Health Campaigns: Recognizing the importance of mental health, the Youth Council organized awareness campaigns and psychological support workshops, helping to reduce stigma and provide valuable resources.
