From March 3-7, 2025, the Third Meeting of States Parties to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) convened in New York, bringing together diplomats, experts, and civil society advocates committed to advancing nuclear disarmament. Against a backdrop of rising geopolitical tensions and renewed debates over nuclear security, this meeting underscored the importance of multilateral action in eliminating nuclear weapons and addressing related security threats.

One of the most significant contributions we made during the meeting, was the working paper we published, titled Armed Conflict, Illegal Trafficking, and Nuclear Proliferation: Towards the IV Special Session on Disarmament (IV-SSOD). This document provided an in-depth analysis of how armed conflicts and illicit trafficking networks contribute to nuclear proliferation risks, emphasizing the need for stronger international safeguards and oversight mechanisms.
